Knick knacks
Chimes
Belongings
They are not yours
Nor do you want them
But they are loved
Useless to you
Meaningful in another home
A dead sunflower
Withered and shriveled
Yet on display
For the world to see
A single ornament
Half shows day
Half shows night
To someone
These mean the world

What am I?
My visage shows most often
The limbs sometimes are seen
Seasons fade
You cannot change what I do
I am free like the tide
click click click
The pleading looks I get
Cannot control me
The limbs sometimes are seen
Seasons fade
You cannot change what I do
I am free like the tide
click click click
The pleading looks I get
Cannot control me
Engulfed (Everyday Photo)
Where is the sun?
Where are the mountains?
Where are the trees?
They have no choice
They are not hiding
They are being smothered
Some might call it light
Most call it musk
No color
No life
Midday is gloom
For the clouds do not rest
Where are the mountains?
Where are the trees?
They have no choice
They are not hiding
They are being smothered
Some might call it light
Most call it musk
No color
No life
Midday is gloom
For the clouds do not rest
So Much Depends Upon
So much depends
upon
Setting long
distance goals
To reach
at some point
In a far
away place
upon
Setting long
distance goals
To reach
at some point
In a far
away place
Twinkle Twinkle Revisited
Blinking brief blaze
I am oh so curious
Uplifted into the azure
You are a flying jewel
Glinting infant aurora
I am still so curious
I am oh so curious
Uplifted into the azure
You are a flying jewel
Glinting infant aurora
I am still so curious

Opening
The blood red sea parts
to reveal a swirling background
As my eyes are drawn up
everything else disappears
There is no longer coughing
or rustling or fidgeting
And the rough texture of the arm
seems to become cotton candy
Their voices surround my head
through their mouths do not
Booming cries become amplified
And every note rings perfection
The chewing gun falls
As my mouth opens wide
I grab my mother's hand
And she understands
I am mesmerized
to reveal a swirling background
As my eyes are drawn up
everything else disappears
There is no longer coughing
or rustling or fidgeting
And the rough texture of the arm
seems to become cotton candy
Their voices surround my head
through their mouths do not
Booming cries become amplified
And every note rings perfection
The chewing gun falls
As my mouth opens wide
I grab my mother's hand
And she understands
I am mesmerized
